I have bundled myself up into gear and have prepared the FINAL design of this campaign... the long awaited SOCKS.

Now I remind you again, these socks are made up of bamboo, and the design will be woven in. The fabric is incredible soft and light, great for warmer weathers and a cloud-like feel if you like to be socks out in the house. While these will have strings inside, they will be quite minimal, and so far from my previous designs I have had no snagging.

Onto the design reveal now!



I have prepared THREE whole designs for you all. A millipede, a longhorn beetle (Rosalia alpina) and a dragonfly lounging on some flowers.
The first two designs are on the FRONT of the socks, meanwhile the last is on the sides.

THE POLL WILL HAVE TWO ROUNDS.

The first round, starting today and lasting TWO days, will decide on which design we will go for. The next poll, lasting until the last 48h of the campaign, will decide on the final colours of the sock.

These socks are a complete community poll. Meaning that it votes will be pulled from Backerkit, Instagram, Tiktok, Tumblr, and Discord. So many places so be very vigilant on which winner you would like!

Gooooood morning to all my grasshoppers today!
We are about half way through the timeline of this project, so I return to you all to give you the news and results on all the pin votes and whatnot!

As you already know, the winning millipede became an Ivory.



The snail, which had an OVERWHELMING majority love the painted snail design.



And the weevil, which just like the snail, had an overwhelming vote for the blue species!



Now, as you saw on the campaign page, after we reached €2,500 I promised to make alt colourways of some of the previous pins.
So please welcome the giant rainforest mantis AND a velvet worm!

This makes a whole set of 8! A nice number I think :)

As you can see some of these switch between UV print and screenprint, and the exact method will be decided on during the sampling process according to my manus best choice. Thankfully their UV print is very clean and not grainy like some are, so in the end the only thing that will change is colour output and price (but that's for me to worry about and not you!)

Now I need to slink away and design some socks for you all to vote on :] If there's any specific style or species you'd like to see on them, please let me know!

Now for some other news!

I had the absolute joy to be invited as a guest to a fellow Irish artist's crowdfunder to create an illustration with so much detail it haunted me for a whole week.

This is Fate. A webcomic turned into physical books about a little dust bunny by Anthea West. Her work is highly regarded in our Irish community and her storytelling is fantastic. Hello hello hello, we're getting close now... it's so soon!!! I'm stressing, BUT! 99% of things are done and ready now :]

First off, the millipede vote has finished, and the Ivory won!! Woo yay yippee



I will clean up the design during the campaign, so don't worry about the artwork being a little rough.

Now I'm sure you're itching to see what the next pin design in.... and it's a PEACOCK JUMPING SPIDER!



This lil guy is the second stretch goal of the campaign, I'm particularly excited about him. I just have a soft spot for peacock jumpers I'll be honest. This one specifically is the Maratus volans species which has quite the amount of stripes on it!
